JOB SUMMARY:
The Child Plus Specialist is the primary steward of the agency’s data integrity, responsible for the administration and oversight of the Child Plus management system. Acting as a partner and leader, this role ensures the exceptional tracking of child and family data to meet all regulatory requirements. By maintaining integrity in every record and serving as an innovator in data analysis, this specialist provides the insights necessary to support strategic decisions and program excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Administration & Integrity:
- Trust & Accountability: Act as the agency administrator with high expectations for data security; manage user accounts and system configurations to ensure a fair and consistent environment.
- Responsible Oversight: Audit child records and family demographics with unwavering integrity, ensuring all entries are accurate, timely, and complete.
- Compliance, Monitoring & Innovation
- Execute Change: Generate and analyze the Program Information Report (PIR) and other regulatory data, acting as a responsive internal consultant to ensure Head Start Performance Standards are not just met, but exceeded.
- Research & Adaptability: Identify trends in enrollment and eligibility data; use curiosity to investigate shifts and propose innovative strategies to maintain optimal enrollment numbers.
Training, Support & Partnership:
- Connection & Support: Serve as a builder of staff capacity by training new and existing team members; provide technical support with no judgment, ensuring all users feel empowered to navigate the system.
- Communicate & Listen: Facilitate open dialogue through a questions-welcome approach, helping staff understand the "why" behind data entry protocols to foster a culture of teamwork.
Reporting & Service:
- Value All: Develop custom reports on health compliance and family goal progress that reflect our commitment to being allies for the families we serve.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Conduct work in a moderate-paced office environment with frequent interruptions. Possess strength and stamina to be able to remain in a seated position for up to 60 minutes at a time throughout the workday with a minimum of fatigue and discomfort. Possess visual acuity and stamina to work at a computer for the majority of the day. Be able to lift and carry file boxes weighing up to 25 pounds. Environmental demands include an air-conditioned building with fluorescent lighting and exposure to computer monitors. This position requires frequent travel to off-site locations.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Associate’s degree in Data Analytics, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, report generation, and system administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication skills for training staff and reporting to management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data sets.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Child Plus software.
- Advanced knowledge of Child Plus modules (Enrollment, Health, Family Services, Education).
- Experience working in a Head Start or Early Head Start program.
SUPERVISION:
- Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Programs.
